Submission Guidelines

Eligibility/Consent

  • All and only students from Langley High School are welcome to submit to be published.

    • Does not apply to competitions. Competition specific rules can be found in each's guidlines.

  • Once published, your work will be accessible throughout the internet and possibly in print.

Short Story

  • Although there is no word limit, we prefer works of approximately 1000 words.

  • If the piece has been published somewhere else, one must get permission from the copyright holder.

  • When submitting, one must attach a short third person author's bio with a brief overview of the piece.  

  • All works require a corresponding title.

  • All genres of short stories—science fiction, flash fiction, playwriting—are welcome.

Non-Fiction

  • Although there is no word limit, we prefer works of approximately 1000 words.

  • If the piece has been published somewhere else, one must get permission from the copyright holder.

  • When submitting, one must attach a short third person author's bio with a brief overview of the piece.  

  • All works require a corresponding title.

  • All genres of non-fiction—personal essay, memoir, journalism—are welcome.

Art Exhibition

  • If the piece has been published somewhere else, one must get permission from the copyright holder.

  • When submitting, one must attach a short third person author's bio with a brief overview of the piece.  

  • All works require a corresponding title.

  • We do no accept physical art pieces; in other words, all submission should be in the form of a picture.

  • We only accept pdf, jpg, and png forms.

  • All genres of art—painting, illustration, design, photography—are welcome.

Poetry

  • If the piece has been published somewhere else, one must get permission from the copyright holder.

  • When submitting, one must attach a short third person author's bio with a brief overview of the piece.  

  • All works require a corresponding title.

  • All genres of poetry—free verse, sonnet, narrative—are welcome.

How to Submit

1. All works should be in the form of either a pdf, docx, or png

2. Please submit your work as well as a short third-person author's bio 

3. We only receive submissions through emails: langleykaleidoscope@gmail.com 

4. You can also submit through clicking the "submit" button on the home page; it will direct you to our email.
